If your sex life has gone off the boil there are countless pills and products out there that claim they’ll get you going again.
We asked 10 couples to find out if they really work.
It felt unsexy and gross
The couple: Kelly, 33, and Neil Chantry, 35, from Suffolk, who have two children, have been together for 12 years. They have sex two or threes times a week but their sex life has become routine. They say they are often tired.

Kelly says: "We tried to have fun doing it but it was a bit messy and we had to do it an hour before, which was inconvenient. At first it felt cold but eventually wore off, leaving a gooey, unpleasant feeling.

I actually felt very unsexy and a bit gross. We tried it several times but eventually gave up because it just wasn't working."

The couple: Amy Jones, 21 and Peter Farrel, 19, from Edinburgh, have been together for a year and have sex three times a week.

Amy says: "I expected to feel very different after taking the pills but I didn't want to have sex any more than normal. The only positive difference was increased moisture. This helped with lubrication so the sex was slightly more enjoyable as it was something we both could enjoy.
"I wouldn't pay for them and I expected more but there were no noticeable side effects, which is a good thing."

The couple: Becki North and Josh Craig, both 18 from Leicester, have been together for a year. They have sex six times a week but often end up getting bored so are looking for something to make their sex more interesting.

Becki says: "At first I didn't notice anything different but the more I moved, the more it started to work. I wouldn't say it improved our sex life but it has added a new sensation and I would recommend it on that basis.
"It wears off after about five minutes but you can apply more. It tastes of really intense menthol, which was a bit much. The squeeze tube was good though because we could choose how much we wanted unlike lube pump bottles."

The couple: Mario Marconi, 44 and Lisa Appleton, 42, from Kent, have been together for six years. They have a healthy sex life but the frequency can often depends on mood and tiredness.

Mario says: "I took the tablets every day expecting the sex to get better as time went on but I didn't notice a massive difference. I did get turned on much more easily though.
"We had sex more often during the week but I expected a better performance from a pill, especially as I had to take it two hours before sex.
"Lisa said she didn't notice any real difference but said that I did seem more interested in nookie than I do normally."

The couple: Lisa, 38, and Giovanni Marrocco, 53, from Leeds, have been together for four years. They have sex six nights a week but want something to help with stamina and performance.

Ann Marie says: "As a middle aged woman I'm conscious of the fact I could expect to have problems with lubrication but this helped and was great fun to use.
